History of Eurostile Font Zine
This design project was part of my Typographic class assignment where we were tasked to create a zine about the history and the development of a typeface of choice. I decided to go with one of my favourite typeface, Eurostile. This particular typeface is very popular among the tech related industries. And since then, I wanted to make the visual represents the typeface's characteristics which are clean and simple and has modern vibes to it. I decided to take inspiration from a race car which competed in World Endurance Championship (WEC) during the 2023 season. The car in question is the Peugeot 9X8. The car has a modern and futuristic look and the design is sleek and distinctive to look at especially with their grey and acid green coloured livery. Using a zine as the media to share this particular topic is an effective way to share and express our thoughts and make the readers hooked up when reading it.
Re:act Road Safety Campaign
This design is part of the Re:act 2023 program where the client challenged university students to create a road safety campaign. The road safety campaign focuses on safer speed to reduce road accident and road trauma. The billboard would later be put on a billboard on the side of the road. Since this would be put on a billboard on the side of the road, I decided to make the design simple with a contrasting colours and not too distracting while still able to deliver the main message. The message that I have chose is short yet strong and appealing for younger audience and do not have a negative tone in it.
"Cars and Coffee" Logo and Poster Project
These posters was part of one of my assignments that I made in university. The brief was to make a logo on selected industry and made some rhetorical posters. The industry that I have chosen is coffee shop since the industry is quite popular on my hometown. I decided to name the coffee shop with "Cars and Coffee". The name inspired from a popular car meet up in the United Kingdom where the event held at a coffee shop with a big car parking lot. The art style that I decided to use for the poster is flat-art style with a contrasting colour since because I want to make the objects not too distracting and focuses more on the sentence.
"Audi RS 6 Avant" Project
I made this vector car poster before I went to university to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator and do vector art in general. The poster is about showing side profile of a car that has just been released back then, Audi RS6 Avant. The art style that I went to is minimalist by utilising contrasting colours and strokes for the details of the car.
"Retro-Futurism" Design Project
These designs I made for one of my assignments in university. The task is about making hand-drawn graphics and integrate those drawings into a product. I decided to draw a series of popular tech devices from the current era and the past era (retro) and combined them into a theme which I called "Retro-Futurism". Pop art really influenced my final design from the colour choice and the font style. It connects well with the chosen theme since pop culture is quite popular back then and still going strong until now.
